Well, it’s time to talk shop again. Trevor Lawrence is starting to play some good ball for the Jags. And I guess Zach Wilson is a bum. Let’s take a quick look at some of the teams and games coming up this weekend.
Philly @ Dallas
Damn man, every time the media starts to jump on the Cowboys bandwagon, the team starts to disappoint. Is this a comeback week for Dak? Maybe. Win or lose, Dallas just needs to stay in that 5th spot so they can play Tampa Bay or whoever wins the NFC South in the first round. The playoffs is when Dallas needs to put in work. Nobody cares about these wins or losses now, especially with Hurts not playing. But every team needs to start building momentum so neither team wants to lay an egg right now. Gardner Minshew is pretty good man. Philly could still win this game.
Steelers @ Raiders
This is an old school match up right here. I should be landing in Birmingham or on my way from the airport by the time this game starts, 6:30 PM mountain, 7:30 PM central. With 6-8 records for both teams, this is an elimination game. Maybe we’ll have some magic in this one since this is the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception game (RIP Franco Harris).
Green Bay @ Miami
Man, after 3 straight losses, I’m gonna be pissed, disappointed, distraught and just down in the dumps if the Dolphins lose this one. Started out so hot at 8-3 but have now been knocked back down to reality. Big game for Tua, coach McDaniels and the whole team. If the Dolphins run the ball consistently instead of depending on the pass game, they will be fine on offense. As for the defense, the Chubb trade and signing is NOT paying off. He doesn’t have any special moves out there and he is not a difference maker, at least not yet. Hopefully he comes around. Green Bay has Aaron Rodgers and they are looking better. That’s all I’m gonna say about that.
Other teams/notes
Cincinatti and Joe Burrow are making some major noise again. Mahomes and KC are still trucking. And is that clock going to ever turn midnight for Brock Purdy? I don’t know but Shanahan has that team looking strong too right now. Probably the 2nd best team in the NFC, behind Philly. We’ll see if Buffalo can make a run once they get into the playoffs.
And that is that. A two for one night. An NFL article and a NBA article on the same night. Thank you God for blessing me. Time to finish packing. Holla at yall.
