“It’s been a long time, I shouldnt have left you, without a strong rhyme (article) to step to. ” (Rakim) As i said in Part 1, I’m back. And in Part 1, we dug into the Have Nots. In Part 2, let’s look at “The Haves” or the teams that don’t just look good, but look as if they can make some noise in the playoffs if they stay healthy and whole. Let’s do this.
The Haves
The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, the top AFC teams. Here’s two teams that we expected to be good at the beginning of the year and they have not disappointed. The Chiefs lost Tyrek Hill and although we thought they would still be OK, we actually forgot just how good Patrick Mahomes really was. This guy just consistently makes plays for the team and he can throw from all arm angles. Not to mention he can scramble to go with his awkward looking running ability. And how long can Travis Kelce keep this pace up? If we were playing a game of spades I would say Kelce is like a King or Ace of Clubs/Diamonds/Hearts. Man those two guys are good. But, will that lack of a Joker or Ace of Spade like Tyrek Hill come up to bite them in the playoffs?
As for the Buffalo Bills, I’ve hyped Josh Allen a lot on some of my articles. I mean when he’s on, he’s that guy. He does it all for his team too. I thought he would eventully wear down as a runner but he is still going, trucking people in his way and then getting up and throwing the ball to his Ace of Spade, Stephon Diggs. They are going to be hell to deal with if they win their division and play some home games in that freezing weather in Buffalo. We know their defense is good but can it hold up consistently without Vonn Miller for the rest of the year?
The Cincinati Bengals & San Francisco 49ers. These two teams scare me. They both look good and they are both coming on strong right now. For the Bengals, Joe Burrow is that guy. First, in college, he whups up on my Alabama team. Then, two years later, he leads his NFL team to the AFC Superbowl berth, even though they lost. He is tough as nails and he also has an Ace of Spade in Jamar Chase and a King of Heart in Tee Higgins. And that defense has been hard hitting for 3 years now. I don’t know what their weaknesses are. But Burrow hasn’t beaten the Cleveland Browns in his career, including a loss to them this year. Will the Browns, led by Deshaun Watson, give them another L this Sunday?
The Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins & Baltimore Ravens. You know, these three teams are good but you just don’t fear them like you do the teams above. The Minnesota Vikings have a nice 10-2 record, a Joker in Justin Jefferson and a King of Clubs in Dalvin Cook. I just don’t trust Kirk Cousins in high stress moments in the playoffs. Do you?
Now to my favorite team, the Miami Dolphins!
They got that Joker in Tyrek Hill and a King of Diamonds in Jalen Waddle but I worry about Tua. Any Alabama and Dolphins fan know that this guy is brittle as F%#@. As soon as he take a few good hits, that may be it for the Dolphins 2022 hopes.
As for the Ravens. ONE-TRICK-PONY. It’s Lamar or bust and we all know they will be going home early in the playoffs, if they even get there.
The Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. the top NFC teams
Jalen Freaking Hurts! This guy had his job taken away from him at Alabama and had to transfer to Oklahoma to play. Then, after getting drafted by Philly, has steadily gotten better and now is a front runner for the league MVP. He is a sure Big Joker himself right now. And then he has a King of Spades in A.J. Brown, another spade in Devonte Smith and the defense are their own set of spades. This team is going to be tough to beat in the playoffs. But is Hurts really that good? Can he keep winning down the stretch, in the playoffs and lead this team to a Superbowl berth? I’m anxiously watching.
And…….
And now to the favorite team that we either love, or love to MF hate, the Dallas Cowboys. I can’t hate on them too much, they are winning and winning impressively. Dak has come back from injury and started to connect with his own Jack of Spades in CeeDee Lamb. They also have a couple of running backs, with 1500 combined rushing yards, that are a King and Queen of any suit. Not to mention that Big Joker they have in Micah Parsons on Defense. This team is looking mighty strong and ready to make some very loud noise in the playoffs. I have talked trash about the Head coach but you have to give credit to Mike McCarthy for getting this team to this level of play. But as always, we are just waiting on them to disappoint, somehow, someway. You know it and I know it.
The Somewhere in Between/Undecided
These teams aren’t quite bad enough to be in the Have Nots but are also not going to make any real noise down the stretch, even if they get in the playoffs. I’m not wasting my time on them, right now. It’s always a fluid situation when talking about sports teams. Tennessee Titans, NY Jets, NE Patriots, LA Chargers, Tampa Bay Bucs, Seattle Seahawks (Although I still have to give Geno Smith and Pete Caroll a lot of credit for having these guys relevant, and shafting the Broncos in that Wilson trade), NY Giants (who are doing good but will most likely crash soon with Daniel Jones at QB), and the Washington Commanders.
That’s it’s for this two part article. To read on the Have Nots, click here.
Drop a line and comment on this if you’d like as well. It’s been real yall. I’ll holla.
