Bye bye old guard.
It’s time for the new bloods to take center stage. No longer are we living in the days of Lebron, Curry, Durant, CP3, Giannis & Kawhi (and retired guys like Dwade, Melo, Dwight, etc). I enjoy watching the old heads play but guess what? It’s the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs and all of them are sitting at home right now. The 2010s are long gone and it’s time to recognize the new reign of young players in the league. Welcome Young Bloods.
Introducing:
Anthony Edwards aka Ant Man
Luka Doncic
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander aka SGA
Jalen Brunson aka Big Body Brunson
I can’t forget the two time MVP Nikola Jokic (maybe three time MVP soon), who’s still in the top 1 or 2 players in the league and will be until someone does it better and as consistently as he has the past 3 plus years or so.
Of course there’s guys like Embiid (always hurt), Jimmy Butler (always hurt, aging) Paul George (always underachieving, aging) and Dame. And there’s still the guys that are in their early primes like D. Book, Donavan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown. As well as the guys in the middle or late prime like AD and Kyrie . They all will continue to make an impact in the league.
But this is about the guys above and other guys like Paolo Banchero, Tyrese Maxey & Wemby. The New NBA is here and the old guys better get on board. I don’t see these old heads winning any more championships unless they team up with these young guys and/or a couple of the guys above that are in their early prime. Get used to it. This is the New Breed of the NBA.
